Dr. Megan Theisen
My love of animals began at an early age and fortunately I had an aptitude for science and math. I used opportunities in school and 4-H to further my interest and knowledge of animals. I spent much of my free time in high school and undergraduate studies in veterinary clinics to learn about the profession and gain experience. I am fortunate to be a double alumni of the University of Wisconsin - Madison earning my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science in 2015 and graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2019.
Through various experiences while in school I developed a keen interest in integrated medicine in order to provide another option for treatment and particularly pain control to my patients. Part of this interest stemmed from my own desire to find alternative treatments to my own personal health concerns. Therefore, I became a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist in 2018 after completing the Mixed Animal Acupuncture course . Then in 2019 I completed a veterinarian exclusive course to become a Certified Veterinary Equine Medical Manipulation Practitioner. I have been incredibly fortunate to meet many amazing practitioners along the way who have been invaluable mentors to me.
In my free time I enjoy riding horses in the Kettle Moraine, playing piano and spending time with family. I currently lease a Haflinger horse and own a 9 year old Blue Russian mix cat.
